First major Reiki Healing--2/16/08

Aradon--has lung cancer and could barely breathe. I did Reiki for about ten minutes on him. I was amazed at the fact that I knew he could take no more. I felt good. Not drained or over energized.

Kay helped me balance my Chakras..had too much in the heart chakra area.

Aradon was up singing and was full of energy later that evening. The next two days he kept commenting at how good he felt. He said he hadn't felt that good a very long time.

This is a sign to me that it is time for me to accept the attunements that have been offered to me several times now.

The Phoenix

"A mythical bird that never dies, the phoenix flies far ahead to the front, always scanning the landscape and distant space. It represents our capacity for vision, for collecting sensory information about our environment and the events unfolding within it. The phoenix, with its great beauty, creates intense excitement and deathless inspiration."(1)To us it would seem that the Phoenix never dies. It is believed to have a lifespan of 1,000 years or more. A human does not live that long, and I am not sure I would want to live that long. The Phoenix not only represents our vision capacity, but represents many other things as well.

The Phoenix represents different ideas to different groups of people; yet, it also represents similar ideas to different groups. Its overall representation seems to be its reflection of the cycle of the God's life. The one thing that is a real striking resemblance is its ability to renew and reproduce its own being. It dies and comes back just as the sun rises each day, and as the God returns every Spring.

The way it enters the world resembles the way Brigid enters. He rises out of the flames of a burning nest. Brigid, when she is born there are flames that rise from Her head to the sky. Another resemblance is the variety of things that the Phoenix represents. Brigid is known for many attributes that make her an all around Goddess. The Phoenix is capable of many things also.

The Phoenix can heal(himself and others)and inspires creativity and hope with its beautiful appearance and song. It is a very colorful bird and the feathers are said to contain magic properties and can be used in things such as wands.(2) The Phoenix uses its tears for healing. I find that interesting. Tears are used to break spells in many fairy tales. Its song is believed to inspire and is associated with peace. It eats only dew drops as it will not harm even to eat. This action helps to bring comfort and and end to suffering.(3)

This bird is so remarkable. It is also considered one of the four protectors of the elements along with the Unicorn, Dragon, and the Tortoise.(4) Each of these animals is remarkable in its own way. I find it interesting that the animals I have always been drawn to are considered Guardians of the Watchtowers. I do not find it surprising though, as I believe they are fitting for those positions.

The Phoenix has recently become more apparent in my life and with this research I can see why. Along with Brigid as my Goddess, there is a lot of learning I need to do deep within myself to learn to work with the Fire of creativity within me.

self guided meditation

I did a self guided mediation today. I managed to do it for half an hour and made a good deal of progress. I went into the ocean down into a room and came back up after sitting there for a bit. I actually felt the weightlessness as I was entering the water and felt my body getting heavier as I was coming out of the water. This is a great deal of progress.

Not much visual yet, but there were some spots of fuzzy images that did appear this time. So, I am definitely making progress.
